This band is – from what I can tell – just about to blow up or uh… I don’t know – maybe they already did. Synthy awesomeness. I get a little tingle each time that electronic ringy thing happens just after “there were birds singing in the trees”.  If you are in the US, you can purchase the album from Amazon.

heard it, liked it, purchased it…..it’s rare that anyone with the synthy elements that bootsy described above bothers to incorporate a little sincerity in their vocals. when i realized that the album title described two of my alltime favorite activities, i had a good feeling about it. and the artwork even reminds me of this one time on high school spring break when i was drive-by frenched by a girl i didn’t know.

Good Call Dan. I’m stumbling upon more and more “folktronic” music from the UK that combines your desired mix… this uh…… synthcerity.

Sorry. had to. have at it.

    can’t believe i missed that!

I don’t know who they are either, but they are definitely in my head now too. I’ve got a feeling this album will be a welcome addition to the AM subway ride.

Word Train – I miss music on an AM subway ride. Its been a long time for me since I’ve lived in a city with a subway.
I’ve just stumbled upon these guys recently, they were all over the UK Blogs top 10 of 2008 lists. Tell us about the rest of the album Dan???

ok, so upon further inspection of the album, they have a song named Pissing on Bonfires/Kissing with tongues…..this song has nearly the exact same vocal Melody as the Neutral Milk Hotel Song ‘Song Against Sex’. Is this derivative, or is there some connection between the two groups…..do some research Boots. Other than that, the rest of the album doesn’t have the same level of catchiness, but focuses more on synthcerity. (Which by the way should be added to the next edition of the OED)

It amazes me that you picked that up… but yeah – all I see is this one liner here: http://saidthegramophone.com/archives/announcings.php
