Ariel Pink is by no means new, though he’s certainly under-rated. Part of the outsider music genre, he records all of his music at home and plays each instrument himself (often making drum sounds with his mouth) resulting in a very lo-fi sound. He has a small cult following in his hometown of Los Angeles and is also heavily endorsed by Animal Collective.

This video for “Kate I Wait” has an eerie resemblance to the cross-dresser scene from Silence of the Lambs and brings delightful chills to my spine each time I see it.
