It is with confidence that I can assume this will not be the first melodious massage laced gently upon you from our featured and seasoned reggae/acoustic veteran, Mishka. But for those unfortunate not to have been properly introduced, we are more than willing to set the stage right here at The Muffin. Mishka represents all that is pure about reggae music; the simplicity, the good-natured resolve and the soulful rhythms that “wipe away transgressions”. Born in Bermuda, a life of island hopping instilled in Mishka Frith a sense of grounded appreciation for nature and for the blessings of life.

Mishka has been “a man with a guitar” for some time now, having released his first self-titled LP in 1999 under Sony and Creation. Though his albums, for those who breathe his music, come all too far apart, 2009 brought many graces in the form of Above The Bones released back in February.

Live, Mishka is captivating. Often performing solo on stage, perched on his stool with guitar in hand, you can feel the honesty of his music and sentiments of his message. He has toured with the likes of Xavier Rudd and Birds of Wales and those who were there to see would surely attest to his gutsy performance at SXSW this year as well.

Life on Planet Audio Muffin is amazing, but I will say it is always refreshing to spend some time getting re-acquainted with those musicians/singer song-writers that are so bona fide in their approach and intentions that it makes you realize why you love music so much in the first place.
