The Last Shadow Puppets

Whenever I go through Claremont I always stop at Rhino Records. I can usually find one or two new releases I simply can’t pass up. This is my new favorite thing. The hard part is deciding which songs to post, because there’s not a single low point on the record. I may have to post them all.
The Last Shadow Puppets are Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane from The Rascals. Now I like both bands alright but this particular project in particular eclipses everything. Not only that but Arcade Fire’s Owen Pallett orchestrates this whole thing. And the end result is dramatic, cinematic, and each song is a is a mad torrent of 60s style pop with a Spanish flare that takes you and spins you around blindfolded until the songs abruptly end, leaving your head still spinning, and trying to find your way.
I can’t tire of this record. I take it with me everywhere. It knocks my socks off, flips my lid, and leaves me literally beside myself. Buy this thing.
The Last Shadow Puppets- The Age of the Understatement
The Last Shadow Puppets- Standing Next to Me
The Last Shadow Puppets- Calm Like You
The Last Shadow Puppets- The Chamber
