We don’t post enough remixes here on the Muffin. But I recently came across The Knocks, whose stuff we have all heard on our travels through the blogosphere, but probably never took the time to see who was cutting up your favorite indie song.
But when the hit remixes start pilling up you eventually have to take notice. And especially with their latest original song, Can’t Shake Your Love, these dudes are legit.
From their Twitter stream it seems like they may be in the studio doing some beat making for an upcoming rapper. Which brings up an interesting question…
With electronic music so popular these days, is the day coming when big name rappers skip over their usual list of producers and start asking folks like The Knocks, The Crookers, or LA Riots to produce their album BEFORE the remix?
Kid Cudi just lit up the Hype Machine, but where would he be without The Crookers dropping him in every club across the world?
But back to The Knocks. You can download all of their songs here. And with such a great list of songs it is fun to wait and see what their next remix will be (I’m pretty sure it is going to be Cudi).
Keep doing what you’re doing Knocks – and thanks for giving us some tunes to rock to on this beautiful Saturday.
