A soft longing for a more epic quality of life, love for country, for folk, for the romance of a beautiful man whistling along with his guitar. Or the idea that the entire album was recorded in one fell swoop in a church hall, though his voice sounds like the kind of sadness that makes church feel like a proscribed venue. I’m trying to put my finger on the layers of love that I have for my new discovery. At first it was just the ear turning ambiance of AMBIGUITY. I stumbled upon it on an online radio program. It made me stop dead in my work day with that self-mutilating longing feeling that the heavy hearted love to revel in. Its a consistent feeling throughout the album.
