For weeks now, I have been trying to assemble a compilation of words that would do this album justice. For weeks now, this album has basically been playing non-stop on my record player, in my iPod and in my head, urging me to throw something to the Muffin ears. I have come to the forgone conclusion that my writing abilities are not at an adequate level to justly comment Grizzly Bear for this musical achievement, but I digress. Seldom do I embark on focused missions. I usually wander aimlessly until I find good things, places and people – or they find me. This time was different. It was May 26th and I had been very patient. I had not succumb to the temptations of the Torrent demons and payed respect to a band – that had produced an album – that I had anxiously been waiting for. The day had arrived. I am humbled by the fact that two of my top five favorite albums in the last year have been created by this group of musicians. First they grace us with In Ear Park as the Department of Eagles and now, Grizzly Bear releases their much anticipated third full-length (second on Warp). Sparing you of an incessant ramble, here are some tunes…

Took a little while for me to really get into this album, but it hit me all of a sudden and I’ve been listening non-stop ever since. ‘Ready, Able’ may be my favorite song of the year so far, so so so good.
