seabear.jpgI was working on a post yesterday for the band Seabear when I got a phone call. It was my musical guru Puh on the line, he called simply to tell me a new band - wow. I listened intently, and when the first word out of his mouth was Sea I interrupted him, “Seabear!” I yelled into the phone.

“No, no” he said, “Sea Wolf.”

I tried arguing with him that he had made a mistake, the animal in the bands name was a bar, not a wolf. But he was pretty adement that he had made no mistake. So I told him I’d check it out and I did.

I don’t know much about either of these two bands except that they are pretty rad. I feel like I’m always the guy that brings the mellow shit, or as Jack Black calls it in High Fidelity, Sad Bastard Music (in reference to Belle & Sebastian, who I also enjoy). Sea Wolf has some rocking tracks (okay, maybe in lines with Shins level of rocking, but hey don’t distort the cool melodies with your crazy pedal effects).

I don’t have much else to say, find out about these bands on your own as I plan to do today. I’m just still buzzing over the strange coincidence regarding the bands names.
