Sonoma, California based reggae group Groundation is celebrating their ten year anniversary since formation back in 1999 and what better way to commemorate this achievement then by the release of a new album? Here I Am was released on the band’s own label, Young Tree Records, on July 21, 2009 here in the US. This rootsy jam-reggae band has been on an extensive summer tour lending eager ears live listens to their newest tracks. Reggae lovers can appreciate lead singer, Harrison Stafford and his undoubted devotion to reggae music and culture. Harrison not only founded Groundation and Young Tree Records, he has taught the History of Reggae Music at Sonoma State University, has a side project ‘Rockamovya‘ and is now a filmmaker. His reggae documentary project, Holding On To Jah, should be in the international film circulation this year and followed by a full release. The project was co-created with Director Roger Hall and contains interviews with many notable reggae greats such as Israel Vibration.

Groundation is currently on tour in the US and is heading back to California for shows throughout the state this fall. Check out their myspace page for more information on upcoming shows.
