Miike Snow has been on every music playing device in my possession since his first self-titled album came out back in May. To go even further, the album has undoubtedly had a direct hand in dictating sequences of events that have quite possibly made this summer the most epic and unforgettable one yet (at least since last summer and until next summer). His beats are absorbing, his instruments are in tune and his lessons are valuable - its true, a horse is not a home. As Frank alluded in his recent post on James Yuill, Miike Snow comes through with complete songs. For those of you who fancy deserts, Miike Snows songs are seven layer cakes, each layer with some special and very complimentary surprise, like edible confetti or something. So as we ignore the signs that summer is ending and continue to indulge in margaritas and games of volleyball until the sun sets, we stiil have more time for Miike Snow. Thank you Sweden for this musical gift, we owe you some Muffins.
Miike Snow- A Horse Is Not A Home
I know you probably don’t have a whole lot to do right now (it is Friday), so here is a 45 minute live video of the Miike Snow crew shredding it in purple jackets courtesy of our friends at KCRW (subscribe!!) - Enjoy.
You thought that was it? A hells nah. B-B-Bonus newsflash. Miike Snow is playing in LA this Sunday 10/4 at the Echo and Wednesday 10/7 at Spaceland in a special KCRW show. Even better, both nights he will be accompanied by my boy Jack Penate. You know I will be posted up at the bar in my purple jacket with “B” stitched real nice on the back. Be well Muffiners and please spend this week’s allowance on an absolute masterpiece.
I am off on a Mexican surf trip for a week. Ill catch up with you all soon. Take care.
