Well, the Kid Cudi album leaked today. Well technically, I’m writing this a couple days before I post it. But I thought that it would be appropriate to listen to some Cudi songs on your Labor Day (for those of us in the US).
The album presents itself as a cinematic story narrated by Common. The beats are a little darker and match Kid Cudi’s introspective rhyming. You might not find any club bangers here, but definitely a new take on hip-hop. I think we all got a taste of this direction with the mixtape. But now it is solidified, Cudi has no interest trying to make the same old hip-hop.
And the best thing about the album, in my opinion, is the inclusion of two Ratatat produced tracks – including one with MGMT on the hook. I’ll admit, I loved this song before I even heard it, but after listening my opinion didn’t falter.
I’m only gonna throw up that one track though. I think you should listen to the album from start to finish. You will be amazed.
With Kid Cudi changing rap music and Brady Quinn starting from the beginning of the season – it looks like its gonna be a good year for Cleveland!

I’ve been excited about this track since first hearing about it and I’m definitely not disappointed. I like the direction Cudi is trying to take hip hop right now and can’t wait to fire up the rest of the album.
I like it!
