Denmark - creator of the timeless toy Lego’s and home to beautiful women who frequent the infamous Strøget Street, should be equally noted for their gift to the rock world in the form of the band Kashmir. Much like the material cashmere, this band makes unique and comfortable music for the ear. Producing albums for more than 13 years, the band has transformed its styles and expressions over time, and for anyone who has been listening to this Danish rock group, the progressions will keep you wanting more. Their latest album, No Balance Palace (2006), is in my opinion, the album that will finally turn some heads in the States. With a darker and more lucid sound to the music, I couldn’t help but be reminded of some tracks from Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief (2003) album. “She’s Made of Chalk” is in video form below and, as always, music is best listened to loudly, so turn up the volume and enjoy.
