Into the Wild premiers this Friday: Sean Penn’s film about a young man who denounces his capital life and journeys into the great abyss, all to the tune of Eddie Vedder. Whether the movie lives up to expectations or not, the soundtrack is amazing: disheartened, acoustic somethings by a musical icon of my formative years. These songs tell the story of an abstruse rambler. Here is a snippet of the sound.
