Imogen Heap will release her next album on August 24th/25th, Ellipse. Imogen Heap has been keeping her fans busy since her last release with a ton of online activity, the focal point being her Twitter profile. You may remember Imogen Heap from one of the coolest robot songs ever made on her last album.

The first song from her new album has started to make its way around good music radio stations and cool blogs like the Audio Muffin.  After listening to the song a few times I came to two conclusions.

1. This is a really great song and her album is sure to fit nicely within the current state of music, now that music has finally caught up with her edgy, electronic sound.

2. The song is called First Train Home and I’m pretty sure she wrote it about one of the authors of the Audio Muffin.

I know what you’re thinking, “Which author are you talking about?”  The one who likes cover songs, yeah that’s right – Train himself.  I’m not going to divulge the evidence I have for this suspicion, but let’s just say I have some pretty solid proof.  And if you want to find the deep seeded meanings in the lyrics – imagine Train as the center point (YES!!).

And while we are talking about Train, I thought I would throw together some of my favorite songs about trains.  I don’t believe that any of these songs have anything to do with our Train, but you never know.  And I apologize to Train that all these songs are kinda slow and sappy – but that’s just the way I roll.

This song is great when Amos suddenly catches you off guard with his reference to taking coke to stay awake.

Definitely one of my favorite Mason songs, and yet so simple.

I just started slow clapping in my apartment…this just may be the greatest post in Muffin history.

    great song with “train” it.

  3. Frank on Monday 13, 2009

That’s pretty messed up that they leave that poor blind guy in that room all by himself.

And how come all songs about trains are sad and downbeat?

  4. Train on Monday 13, 2009

seriously, there are some somber ass train songs out there. How about some Cat Stevens – Peace Train to liven things up?
