Here’s a little email diddy that FRANK and I had back and forth today:

Hey Dude,

These guys sent me an email at the Muffin to try and get promotion.  It doesn’t look like they are signed but they aren’t bad.  And they play shows in LA.  We should try to do stuff with them as our styles seem similar.

Here’s my idea:

Get their disk, we’ll rip samples of a few of their songs, I can lay down some raps over them, we’ll basic remix the shit, send it to them, and be like “hey let’s do a couple tracks together”

End conversation

So, basically I read FRANK’s email, downloaded their free tracks, liked it okay, and then wrote back to him.  Then I listened to the Ratatat remix a second time, and decided to buy their shit on iTunes.  It’s worth five bucks, so you should probably buy it if you like non-thug rap in any way.

Then I decided, “well, I guess these guys probably aren’t going to get on the Muffin very easily, even though I like them.  So I’ll do a drunk post about them and show them a little love.”  And maybe I can smoke them out while we lay down a track together sometime soon.  I totally gave them cash money for their EP, a link back to their web site, and a favorable review.  And I’ll rip up their god damn mic.

Of course I’m too lazy to embed their songs and shit, but I did find the Ratatat mix as the background music for the crazy little redhead dancer kid, so I’ll post that for you to heart.

Cheers Cool Catz, keep rhymin’
