This is honest music. The instruments are instinctively harmonious. The vocals are rhythmical and balanced. Not only has Venice is Sinking taken great strides in releasing their much anticipated sophomore album, AZAR, but they have developed a sound that is whimsically ensuing of their growth as a band. Venice is Sinking comes to us from Athens, Georgia and has been recognized for the soothing vocal combinations of Daniel and Karolyn. The band describes their release AZAR as “feeling like one thing, conceptually and sonically united behind the idea that our surroundings color even the smallest events in our lives.”
Notice the distinct precision in the drum lines, perfectly layered violas and unique guitar progressions. The sounds are complex and emotion inducing. This is the sound of fall.
Immediately following the recording and production of AZAR, the band recorded another LP live from the Historic Georgia Theatre in Athens which has since burned down.
