green go

Kind of creepy, right? Creepy good though.

Although Canadian electro-punk group Green Go may need to tone down the themed band pics, they sure know how to put some serious jams into my ear. Where as some songs conjure up the sounds of Passion Pit dueling My Chemical Romance, others sound as if Franz Ferdinand just did a pile of party drugs and hopped in the DeLorean DMC-12 with Michael J. Fox and the Doc. The rest are simply beyond the scope of my alphabet soup.

The details on this band lie in obscurity archived somewhere between “up-and-coming” and “bands with 1500-2000 friends on Myspace”, but they should remain on your radar none-the-less. Making a name for themselves with high octane live shows that leave an enthused crowd sweaty and tired, Green Go released Borders back in April and has been making venues full of Green-Go’ers dance with madness all fall.

Green Go dropped heavy hammers with the release of Green Go Remix Project Vol. 1 where they mashed up some of the hotter indie tracks from 2008. Their 2009 release Borders is available now on Maple Music.

Give yourself some room, move the couch if need be, these songs should get you ready for a little Friday night mischief.
