Yay. Jeeeeesus. I’ve been waiting for this forEver. I was looking on the SubPop Record Label Website for kicks and took a look at one of my all time fav bands – Fruit Bats. Subsequently stumbled upon this new Fruit Bats Blog that Eric Johnson just started. Did you know that the reason why I haven’t had a new Fruit Bats album to listen to in 3 years is because MFer was playing in the Shins. I didn’t know it till today. Till his blog.
So. there is a West Coast tour and the promise of a new album and I can’t wait for more sweet sweet songs to love and listen to. The albums from 2003 and 2005 have received regular playing time in my life since I saw them at a 2006 show at the Troubador in LA and I’ve pimped this band out to my loved ones as hard as I have the Avett Bros. One night me and a long lost friend talked Topher into driving us up Mulholland Drive at 3am while we both sat in the backseat and sang along.
