Well it has finally stopped raining in Southern California. Before you listen to the songs that have been keeping us busy this week I would like to send you to a couple blogs we added to our blog roll this week. Turn the page is a blog that posts similar stuff to what we have here on the Muffin. Hi-Fi Heart is a blog that I have been following for close to a year - she is currently in her 8th installment of songs from television commercials - fun stuff. Also, to keep you in the Christmas mood, check out this Where is Santa Game that I found last week.
On Thursday morning I heard this nice little uke song from Soko on Morning Becomes Eclectic. I love the wide variety of music showcased on this show. Soko has little more than a MySpace page right now - but KCRW is playing her on the radio - nice! - Frank
Soko - I Will Never Love You More
Electro-pop goodness with a falsetto thrown in for good measure. The Train approves. - Train
Because eminem says “kiss my butt” and doesn’t sound like a dbag. - Hot Dog
All I know about Amazing Baby is that they are from Wesleyan University in Connecticut (same as MGMT- and I think they’re friends or were in another band together or something) Although according to their myspace they’re in LA now.
I’ve been hearing this song Head Dress, off their Infinite Fucking Cross EP, over the last few days and I really quite like it. There’s something almost Suede-esque about it. Here it is.. - Ginny
It’s been a girly singalong week for me and this is what I’ve been singing along to this week, as well as the Roxy Moron version of the Three of Us that Frank posted. Thanks for that. - Bootsy
Off their latest album, this tune sounds like it came from the northwest in the early 90’s and it has a killer drum beat. Combination points. - Sydney C
