I know you are all tired of music Foote and Train have been posting.  I’ve literally received tens of thousands of emails begging me to post something.  Oh man - as I’m writing this I noticed Bootsy had a post recently that I didn’t even know about.  How sad is it when you don’t even keep up with your own blog?  FML.  Oh, and just kidding about Foote and Train - you should see how many hits we get on those cover posts…

Truth be told I am not being the lazy Muffin guy, but we are actually working on a new version of the Audio Muffin and it is taking all my extra time.  I’m not going to tell you shit about what we have planned for you, but trust me that you better buy some elastic inserts for your tube socks - cause we plan to knock them off daily!  But honestly, enough yapping and let’s hear some music.

Shiny Toy Guns
This album came out late last year and it became one of those bands you hear on shuffle and are like, “what IS this?”  They even have some songs with Vocoder so expect them to pop up in a future post if ya know what I’m saying.  I’m posting this song because I think it is a throwback to a funny 80s song that belongs at the end of the second act of a John Cusak movie.

Shiny Toy Guns - I Owe You A Love Song Shiny Toy Guns - Season of Poison (Bonus Track Version)

Margot and The Nuclear So & So’s
Another great album from last year that you might have missed.  They have a pretty intimidating name but make some great indie pop songs.

Margot and The Nuclear So & So’s - Broadripple Is Burning Margot and The Nuclear So & So's - Not Animal

The Virgins
I know, we all know who The Virgins are - but this song caught me off guard while I was coming back from Vegas this weekend.  I was sitting in the back seat with a mean hangover and nothing but some headphones and a random selection of songs.  This one came on and I kinda forgot The Virgins wrote such interesting lyrics.

The Virgins - Fernando Pando The Virgins - The Virgins

Coconut Records
I picked up this album simply because it was on iTunes and their name was clearly an attempt to remain an obscure band.  But they make some really catchy indie pop songs reminiscant of Spoon or Phantom Planet.

Coconut Records - Any Fun Coconut Records - Davy

Illinois
Please don’t sleep on this band.  They are doing some very strange marketing sorrounding their latest album.  They have made a “student” film to go along with it and are releasing the album a few songs at time for six months or something.  But if you haven’t heard of them, you are in luck because we only have one more month to go.

Illinois - Tree Illinois - The Adventures of Kid Catastrophe (Chapter 1) - EP
I don’t have this song in a format I can put here - but just go download it you cheap bastard.

Mae Shi
I’m not sure if I can endorse the whole album from this band.  It is pretty awesome - but you gotta be ready with a thumb on the volume knob as the album constantly picks you up and throws you against various walls around your house.  I think this track is very fun though and doesn’t kick your ass too much.

Mae Shi - Lamb And The Lion The Mae Shi - Hlllyh

Curumin
If you like hip hop, acoustic spanish guitars, break beats, and sublime you should check out this guy’s album.  You’ll like it even more if you speak Porteguese and know what he’s saying.

Curumin - Compacto Curumin - JapanPopShow
