What’s my excuse for not writing in so long you ask? I have two. First of all, football season started. Secondly, the technology here at the Muffin is changing so rapidly I have become the Fred Flintstone of the bunch. I have no idea what is going on. So I am going to stick to posting a picture along with some tracks of a couple bands I found on a lazy Friday night.

First off: The Big Pink. These Londoners have a unique sound that blends My Bloody Valentine with the more contemporary M83. When I first heard “Dominos” I planned on writing about the band ASAP.

Next: The Mumlers. Ahh, much thanks to The Mumlers. I heard these guys, thought of a classic 50′s detective novel and smiled. I appreciate vocals where you get the sense the singer believes in his lyrics.

Def digging the Big Pinks songs….and you’re right on with The Mumlers and the 50′s detective novel – they should use some of their songs in ‘Bored to Death’ (our boy Schwartzman’s new show), would fit perfectly….

Wow. Sydney lives and breathes. These songs are great. Another reason why we can’t go ten months in between posts by SC

Thanks for introducing me to the Big Pink – good stuff!

You’re like our resident Jay-Z, always going into retirement just to get everyone excited when you come back, what a prima donna.
