Yes, the Cool Catz have some new music for you.  Yes, the Muffin has the exclusive on the new shit.  And finally, yes, Xaphoon Jones produced a track.  “What the F?” you say…let me explain.

You are probably aware that we here at the bakery are big fans of the Cool Catz.  The mission of the Audio Muffin from the beginning was to expose our readers to good music, period – and now a real period.  Cool Catz make good music.

Do you know who else makes good music?  Xaphoon Jones.  Hopefully you haven’t been asleep at the wheel and are aware of Xaphoon Jones, his own mixtape, and the ridiculously hype-eating Chiddy Bang mixtape.

From what I hear the Cool Catz and Xaphoon both ended up checking out my article, Hip Hop’s Unsigned Hype.  The article basically breaks down the next big artists in hip-hop – Cool Catz, Chiddy Bang, and Xaphoon Jones.  And we’re assuming at some point in a cheesy Hollywood split-screen moment both bands exclaimed, “We gotta work with these motha fuckers!”

And keeping with the movie analogy, we fast-forward to the Holiday season of 2009 and the release of Cool Catz Winter Rhymez EP.  And with it a track called Cops Don’t Stop Us produced by none other than Xaphoon Jones!
