In celebration of their current tour (and recent release from the grips of Indianapolis) I’ve decided to share Clipd Beaks. Featuring our very own Greg Pritchard, along with Nic Barbeln, Ray Benjamin and Scott Ecklein, Clipd Beaks originally formed in Minneapolis back in 2003, and they are now spread between Oakland and Los Angeles. While he loves his chorus pedal as much as the next guy, Greg has forgone it for now. Among the layers of noise and crashing cymbals, the bass is bouncy, and the vocals (at times) remind me of Mark E. Smith. Their debut full-length, Hoarse Lords is dirty, brash, and largely post-punk.
