Now I don’t know about you, but your boy Trizzy is slightly unfamiliar with the ways of the dubstep – this is somewhat odd only because I definitely got into a heavy beathead phase back in college. Ahh well, you kids and your ever-evolving genres, how’s a man to keep up? The sounds of the dub have seemingly permeated every corner of NYC this summer – from cars blasting it outside my window at 3AM (thanks for that), to catching some bass at the barbershop and drum patterns at the diner, the dub is here to stay amigos. And don’t get it twisted (hello 90′s language), my ignorance of dubstep doesn’t mean I’m not willing to learn – matter fact the next time the dub steps to me in the Westside I’m gonna have to check it out and beat up the beat. Speaking of which…

The reason I’m here today is to show some support for an event going down in NYC next weekend, Saturday, July 31st. The party, thrown by the homies over at 60 Hurtz, is called Christmas in July and I’m hoping that the Christmas element of this party means free air conditioners for everyone (we’re got a sweet heat wave going on in the city right now). Barring air conditioners, the event promises auditory presents from Stitch N Eye-V, Lowbo, Sound of Sound, Great Weekend and a headlining performance from Detroit phenom producer and DJ, Kyle Hall. Head on over to Don Hills if you’re in the hood next Saturday – I’ll be the rad/obnoxious dude in the corner rocking a vuvuzela (they’re still funny right? right?) and/or an airhorn.
