With lyrics about zombies, taking Xanax, breaking limbs, brains on fire, shooting guns and drowning boyfriends, there’s no doubt that Be Your Own PET is balls out rock and roll. Originally from Nashville, they are signed to a UK label and have had all of their singles celebrated on that far-away island. Until now. Now I loved their single “Adventures” but “The Kelley Affair” is that propeller that is currently hurtling them into the US market and for damn good reason. Not only is it adrenaline-pumping rock and roll but it also happens that the song is about our own sweet city:
