I guess Air Traffic’s latest album came out in the middle of 2007, but iTunes had it on their new release wall a couple weeks ago; you tricked me again iTunes!

The band comes from Britain (obvious after hearing a couple tracks). And I’ve seen a couple reviews comparing them to different bands, but to me they sound like All American Rejects; only British and no one has heard of them so you can listen to them and not get your friends making fun of you even though you’ve told them a thousand times you were into them before they got on the top 40 charts…but anyways.

I don’t really have much to say about this artist so I’ll let you just listen to the songs I selected and tell you who I am going to see at Coachella.

I’m going to see Jack and Vampire Weekend. There are a bunch of others I want to see, but let me just explain (defend) my top two. First, I don’t think anyone is going to argue with me on Vampire Weekend; they are sick and you know it.

Now Jack Johnson… I’m hearing a lot of gruff about Jack headlining the first night. It’s the first night, who headlined last year? Wasn’t it like Bjork or something? Just thank your lucky stars that Bjork isn’t playing (I know there are probably some pretty cool chicks that like Bjork, but be honest with yourself, not everyones cup o’ tea).

Further, what a better venue to see Jack than in the outdoors? Jack is not one to be confined, he has a hard time navigating the hard wood floors barefoot. He needs the grassy open plains of Coachella to fully release the acoustic beast. And speaking of acoustic, have you heard his new album? He’s got a lot of tracks that lean closer to what John Mayer has been up to as of late.

Alright, fine I like Jack Johnson a lot. He was the artist that gave me my final push to start playing guitar when his first album came out. So I’ll be there on Friday..with Brian on my shoulders screaming, “Play Bubbletoes” just like everyone else.
