Wow. 2008 was the quickest year ever, and full of good music. I hafta throw a quick and gigantic thanks to fellow Muffin Authors for sharing your finds with me.!! My most favorite listens of the year are from this very blog!!!
Please enjoy my top 5 finds of 2008!

1. Avett Brothers - The Second Gleam
Avett Brothers - Tear Down the House
Saw these boys several times this year and was never disappointed. They’re my all time fav and I hope I never ever have a year where a new Avett Bros album isn’t on the top 5. 2008’s The Second Gleam is a super sweet and mellow collection of 6 songs.

2. The Dodos - Visiter
This was my favorite find that ever happened to me in a car, on a road, listening to NPR in 2008. I was captured by the song “Walking”, but here is “God?” for ya - cause I already posted a few others back in April.

3. Okkervil River - The Stand Ins
Okkervil River - Lost Coastlines
Fellow Muffiners turned me into an Okkervil River fan a little while back, so I gladly snatched up this 2008 release as soon as it hit the market. I’ll never get over Lost Coastlines.

4. Vetiver - Thing of the Past
It takes me to a field of tall grass, big blue sky and uh… maybe a decade that I never lived in. A recurring theme of 2008 is that I wish to be where I’m not (no matter where I am). So I’ve been thankful for this to be a part of my soundtrack to 2008’s discontented life.

5. Maps & Atlases - You and Me and the Mountain
Deemed Math Rock, Freak Folk, or Euro Pop!! Makes me dance in my chair and stuff. Enough Said?
