Namaste. So, I couldn’t decide on one band to profile for my inaugural Muffin post. I thought about taking a humorous approach by doing a write up on Coldplay and touting them as the ‘next big thing’. However, after quickly realizing that this was neither ironic nor funny I decided to pursue other options. Therefore, while I reflect upon which merry group of musicians to post about, let me leave you with five tunes that I’m currently jamming to. Check it:
1. Friendly Fires – Paris (Aeroplane remix) ft. Au Revoir Simone

Friendly Fires get the remix treatment courtesy of the lovely ladies of Au Revoir Simone (this one’s for you Ad Rock!)
2. The Hours – Ali in the Jungle

Hailing from the U.K., The Hours put out this catchy little ditty showcasing both their skills on the piano and, oddly enough, their knowledge about historical boxing matches.
3. Esau Mwamwaya and Radioclit – Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa

Vampire Weekend would be proud of the treatment their song gets from Esau Mwamwaya & Radioclit. I don’t understand a word in this song (anyone speak Chichewa?), but I know it’s impossible to be in a bad mood after hearing this.

Super jam courtesy of Q-Tip’s new album, The Renaissance. Heeeeeeeeee’s baaaaaaack.
5. M.I.A. and A.R. Rahman – O…Saya

M.I.A. collaborated with legendary Bollywood composer A.R. Rahman for this gem from the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ soundtrack. By the way, if you haven’t seen this movie yet I suggest that you do so. Immediately.
