Alan Wilkis PhantogramI’ve been hearing a lot about Phantogram lately from my friends.  I guess they saw them open for The Antlers here in LA and just won’t shut up about them.  They all walk around with their shiny new iPod Shuffles and synchronize Phantogram songs and try to do choreographed dances down Wilshire Blvd.  I keep telling them the songs are a bit too mellow to be doing those kinds of dances down Wilshire Blvd.  But they don’t listen, and away they go… day after day.

You know Alan Wilkis right?

If you just checked your Facebook friends list, you are in big trouble mister!  He’s that dude that takes all the hot indie pop/rock songs, flips them on their ass, hits them with a synth bass whip, and then commands the world to dance.  He is the one that did that incredible Ambling Alp remix.

In fact, I really like Yeasayer.  And I want everyone I know to really like Yeasayer as well.  So when I first play some for them, I pull a little trick and give them the Ambling Alp Alan Wilkis remix.  Not that they won’t like Yeasayer, but I don’t like taking chances.

Alan dropped off his latest remix for you today.  And guess what, its an awesome Phantogram song!  Alan also hooked it up with the graphics you see adorning this article.  So if you happen to see him on the street, make sure you tell him thanks, “Thanks Alan Wilkis, for making me dance!”

Oh, and I’ll save you a trip to Google – if you want to hear more from Alan he’s got a ton of jams on his Soundcloud page.

I’m usually not a huge remix guy, but I really dig the way Mr. Wilkis reworks and reimagines the songs he does.
