I just had my favorite cheeseburger in town. Before we get to the music I must admit the big decision of the day was whether to have salad or fries. I think the fellas understand where I am coming from on this, especially if there’s a good looking waitress involved. My point being that I doubt Steve McQueen ever ordered a salad with this cheeseburger. Nonetheless, I did. But I added a half smile and cackle as if to say “I am aware of the situation here.” Alright, enough of that, on to the tunes…

After checking out the San Diego Street Scene lineup I decided to give a listen to the bands I haven’t heard of yet. If you are into the Sonic Youth/Echo & the Bunnymen sound than I think you will dig both of these selections. You will find a little bit of angst (let alone in the song titles themselves) but the use of lo-fi quickly stands out. Crocodiles hails from San Diego and No Age from Los Angeles and they both sound right with the volume up. That’s pretty much all I got in terms of information on the bands…

Crocodiles - I Wanna Kill

Crocodiles - Soft Skull (In My Room)

No Age - Eraser
